REMINDERS ABOUT LITERARY REPRESENTATION
NEW OR UNPUBLISHED AUTHORS: Contact us to
schedule an Introduction to Publishing Consultation,
where we will cover all of the steps you need to follow to
be considered for publication by a traditional publisher.
We will answer all of your questions, including how to get a
legitimate agent, what agents and publishers are looking
for in a manuscript, how to improve your writing to meet the
preferences of agents and publishers, how to avoid literary
scams, what your intellectual property rights are, contract
considerations, and other legal issues.
AGENTING SERVICES FOR ESTABLISHED AUTHORS:
We provide agenting services to established authors on
a hourly or flat fee basis only. Please note: new authors
usually don't need an attorney for agenting services unless
there is a contract or other legal problem, and they are
encouraged to seek agenting services on a commission
basis only.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Established authors, please
email us your query letter with a brief description of your
manuscript and your previously published works.
Please put "Query" and a brief title of your work on the
SUBJECT line of your email message.
NO EMAIL ATTACHMENTS PLEASE.
There is no charge for reviewing query letters and other
requested materials for possible representation.
No unsolicited manuscripts accepted.
SELF-PUBLISHING CONSULTATION: If you are thinking
of self-publishing, an attorney can advise you on how to
avoid scams and how to get the best deal for you.
As part of your consultation, we are happy to review a
list of the self-publishers we feel most often provide the best
services for your needs with the least likelihood of problems.
