Entertainment Law
Literary Representation
LISA LANDOLT & ASSOCIATES  provide legal services, counsel, and advice in the area of
Entertainment Law.  We represent authors, musicians, actors, artists, and models in the review
and negotiation of contracts, in business transactions, and in an array of related services
involving Intellectual Property Law and management of proprietary information.  Below are
some examples of the services provided.

ATTORNEY FEES OVERVIEW
We cannot provide free consultations for literary clients.
We charge on a flat fee or hourly rate only.  We do not
offer any Entertainment Law (including Literary) services
on a commission or contingency basis.  You will be notified
of any charges in advance.  Literary queries and requested
manuscripts and proposals are reviewed by us at no charge
when we are considering them for representation.  Please
contact us if you have questions regarding fees.

We do not perform agenting for new authors UNLESS
there is a legal matter involved for which we are
representing you
.

FOR AUTHORS

"HOW DO I GET PUBLISHED?"  Contact us to schedule
an Introduction to Publishing Consultation, where we will
cover all of the steps you need to follow to be considered
for publication by a traditional publisher.  We will answer
all of your questions, including how to get a legitimate agent,
what agents and publishers are looking for in a manuscript,
how to improve your writing to meet the preferences of
agents and publishers, how to avoid literary scams, what
your intellectual property rights are, contract considerations,
and other legal issues.

AGENTING SERVICES FOR ESTABLISHED AUTHORS
We provide agenting services for established authors on
a flat fee or hourly basis.
Contact us for more information.

NOTE TO NEW AUTHORS:  We do not provide agenting
services to new authors
unless there is a legal issue
involved
such as a contract dispute, literary scam, or
intellectual property matter.  If  you are a new author
looking for agenting services but you don't have a legal
problem, we encourage you to seek out a literary agent who
charges on a commission basis.

SELF-PUBLISHING ASSISTANCE:   We receive calls and
emails everyday from people who want to know who the
best self-publishers are and from people who have been
scammed by self-publishers.  We always recommend
the traditional publishing route first.  But, if you are thinking
of self-publishing, an attorney can advise you on how to
avoid scams and how to get the best deal for you.
As part of your consultation, we are happy to review a
list of the self-publishers we feel most often provide the best
services for your needs with the least likelihood of problems.

SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHORS NOW SEEKING TRADITIONAL
PUBLISHERS:
It can be difficult to attain a traditional
publisher for a book that you have already self-published.
We consider representing self-published authors on a
case-by-case basis and charge an hourly fee or a
negotiated flat rate.  Assistance is also provided to
authors experiencing problems with self-publishers.
Please contact us for more information.
